CRNA/Certified Registered Nurse Anethesthetist

Salary in the US - $145,000

Job description: Provides the same service as an anesthesiologist MD.

A Nurse Anethesthetist performs these duties:

*preparation for anesthetic management

*maintains anesthesia intraoperatively

*physical assessments

*preoperative teaching of patient

*watches over the recovery of the patient

*monitors the patient from the operating room to the patient care unit

The CRNA administer's about 65% of the 26 million anesthetics provided for patients in the US every year

To enter a Nurse Anesthesia program you must have a BSN or another appropriate college degree; be licensed as a registered nurse RN; experience one year of acute care nursing.
